In 2019 Oris released this special edition Oris Aquis watch alongside the Let’s Do It Foundation to commemorate World Clean Up Day, a worldwide event that encourages millions of volunteers from all over the globe to join in the efforts to clean up our world’s towns and coastlines.
This spectacular piece has been released in partnership with Pacific Garbage Screening, a young organisation currently developing technology to capture plastic before it enters our oceans.
The blue colour is meant to call to mind the beauty of the sea. The deep blue dial and ceramic bezel are just stunning.
On the caseback there’s a medallion made from plastic that’s been removed from the ocean by a firm called Pacific Garbage Screening. The insert is made from PET bottles that once littered the sea.
